During his tenure, beginning in 2007, as an executive, entrepreneur, as well as the in-house attorney with a start-up in the RTP, Houston was part of the team which raised over $4.5 million in Series A and Series B rounds; he was part of the team that sought and received regulatory clearances by the FDA for multiple technologies. That company is currently operating independently as a successful international healthcare company.
Houston is admitted to practice law in North Carolina. He is an active member of the North Carolina Bar Association and currently serves on the 14th Judicial and Durham County Bar Association Board of Directors. Houston is very active in the local community. He is married with a young son, and another son on the way. His cocker spaniel Benson comes to work with him every day.
